Cricuting the Classroom day 3

Outside my classroom, I have an 8 1/2 x 11 wooden frame, where I am to slide a piece of paper with my name on it.  While I could just type my name out and let it be; I just couldn't do it!  I created this cute school scene with Locker Talk to slide into the frame!  Hope you enjoy it!

Part 2 of Cricuting the Classroom!

I wanted to make a special "school" oriented Welcome Banner for outside my classroom.  I wanted it simple and cute!  

First, I cut scalloped circles as large as I could on a piece of 12x12 cardstock!  Aren't they cute?

Then I cut the letters to spell welcome in blue cardstock at about 9".  

Next, I accessorized each letter with a school item to give it a little something.  The items are cut at about 4".  The apple is from Locker Talk.

The crayon is from Locker Talk as well.  Can you tell I was new to Cricut when I did this?  I couldn't figure out how to do the layer, so I actually colored it!  (Gasp!  Now, I know how!)

The backpack was a cute addition to the letter "L."  Can you guess the cartridge?  Yes, Locker Talk!

I LOVE this pencil!  I also like how it looks like it just finished writing the letter "c."

"Kindergarten" 2009

This is a 12x12 two page layout featuring two different background papers.  I usually use matching background papers, but this last week I decided to use up some papers I had laying around and decided I wasn't breaking any scrapbooking "rules" if I used two different papers!

Left Hand Side

The background paper is unknown but it features a cute chalkboard scene.  I cut "Kindergarten" from Locker Talk (Love that cart!) on some fun crayon swirl paper (also unknown maker).  Then I matted a 5x7 photo of my daughter on yellow school lined paper (hard to see in the photos, but matches journaling block).  The yellow school lined paper is from The Hittin' the Books Stack from DCWV.

 Right Hand Side

The background paper is a coordinating yellow pencil paper with cute apples (also unknown maker!).  The photos on this page are matted in the same red swirl crayon paper as the title is cut from and then I ran a 2 inch stripe behind the lower photos.  I wrote the journaling on the yellow school lined paper in red ink and then matted all of that!  

Note:  I think all the unknown paper is from the Dollar Tree in a school pack; however I am unsure!

2nd Grade

"2nd Grade"

Fall 2008

I love this bright 2nd grade paper that I purchased at my LSS.  The added bonus is that my son's favorite color is orange, so it fits him perfectly!  I matted the vertical picture on a white mat and then tore a jagged edge along the bottom, leaving a wider margin for journaling and interest.  I then matted two 4x6 horizontal pictures together to make a large block.  I used large scratched silver brads to mimic the coins in the title and to ground the photos.
