I am such a lucky person because of all the great things I have in my life, and I wanted a scrapbooking page to showcase that.  This was a new type of layout since I normally scrapbook events, but I really enjoyed creating it.  The hardest part was choosing what "Lucky" things to feature!

Sorry for the bad lighting, but it's pouring down rain outside and I just couldn't get a great picture without a flash!  This is a 2 page, 12x12 layout.  The all the papers except for the title are from The Green Tea Stack from DCWV.  It had 48 coordinating sheets of paper, which I love to work with! 

I cut the title in two parts.  First "Lucky" was cut from the Create a Critter cartridge.  But, I really wanted the title to read "So Lucky", but I couldn't find a great "so."  Time to improvise!  I cut the "So Cute" from Create a Critter as well, being sure to cut it the same size as the Lucky.  I made sure they were the same ratio by layering the U from cute over the U in lucky and changing the size on my Gypsy until they aligned.  I then separated the two titles and had the Cricut cut both.  (I tried hiding portions of So Cute, but I couldn't hide letters...)  I then took scissors and cut the C, T, E portion of CUTE off and layered the So and the U (from cute) over the U in lucky!  Now my title says, "So Lucky" and you can't even tell I pieced it together!  I matted the whole title on brown from the same paper stack.

I cut out several clovers from Indie Art and wrote other things that show how lucky I am!  I added a lighter green large mat (for a 4x6 photo) and wrote in brown along the bottom "to be married to Matt."  I adhered a couple pieces of green glass squares to the bottom with glue dots for a little more bling.  (The 2 clovers say "for my health" and "to be a teacher.  It is my passion!")

The second page continues the same page.  I added another green mat and then a brown mat for 2, 4x6 photos.  I wrote along the bottom of the green mat "to have a house I love" and added several shades of green glass again.  The brown mat says "for Austin and Maddie," my kids.  I used Green Magic mesh and ran it from the right side of the right page to the brown photo mat.  I layered a larger brown clover over the top and then stuck a smaller green clover to the top.  Where the green mesh overlaps the brown mat, I used more glue dots and stuck on some more green glass and then a sparkly cut glass circle.  The two clovers say "for my 2 dogs" and "to be alive, in love and happy!"

I knew with St. Patrick's Day approaching that I wanted to a make a St. Patrick's Day decoration for my house, especially since I'm partially Irish! :)  After searching through my Cricut cartridges, I realized I really didn't have any St. Patrick's Day items on my cartridges, so I had to make due.  In the end this project turned out really cute, and it's one of my favorite things I've created!

Everything seen here was cut by the Cricut! :)  I love my gypsy for this type of project!

First, since I didn't have any cartridges that had a four leaf clover, I used George and Basic shapes to layer 4 hearts, a rectangle and a circle (for the base of the stem) to create a four leaf clover.  I rotated the hearts and lined everything up to make it look like I wanted.  I cut it first in dark green.

Then I raided my recycling and I used a granola bar box to make some thin chipboard.  I wanted to have a stronger backing for the 4 leaf clover.  I broke open the box, removed any sticky areas and then made sure I stuck it to my mat really well.  I then changed the blade depth to 6, and put pressure on maximum.  I cut the 4 leaf clover again.  I then mounted the green cardstock clover to the cardboard clover to make it stiffer and stronger.

Next, I cut a banner from the Christmas Cartridge.  I stretched it larger than 12 inches and cut it once in the same dark green.  Then I scooted the banner to each edge of the mat so only the bows showed (There wasn't a layer for the bows alone.)  and then I cut the bows in light green.   

 I had hand cut the edges connecting to the banner to make the bows stand alone.  I used a green gel pen to add detail lines.  I then cut "A Wee Bit Irish" in white with the same light green as a shadow.  I used the Simply Sweet font.  I also found a 3 leaf clover on Indie Art.  I cut it out in a matching pattern paper and inked the edges green.

Next, I made a leprechaun using bits and pieces from Every Day paper dolls.  Paper Doll Dress Up has a leprechaun, but of course, I don't have that cartridge.  First, I cut about a 6 inch body out of tan paper.  I then used the baseball players shirt and pants to cut the light green shirt and the striped pants. 

 I then cut the fisherman's vest and hat in dark green.  I unlocked the ratio lock on the hat and stretched it taller so it would look more like a top hat.  I hand cut the light green stripe across the hat and used the same Indie art 3 leaf clover for an accent.  On the vest I added 2 large orange brads at the pockets.  I popped the 3 leaf clover and the vest up with popdots for added dimension.  I used George and Basic Shapes to make the buckles for the hat and his boots.  I cut 3 rounded corner squares with the center removed.  I had gold seed beads, so I applied Zig pen glue and stick the seed beads to it.  (The are really cute in person!)  I cut the hair and bow tie in orange and adding orange ink to the edges and gel pen accents.  Lastly, I added two googly eyes and drew the smile on in black Zig marker.  Lastly, I stuck my finger in a red ink pad and used it to make cute little cheeks.  I love him!

Next, I used copper wire to attach the 4 leaf clover to the banner.  I was sure to punch the holes through the cardboard as well.  (I even added some small cardboard squares to the back of the banner to reinforce it as well!)  I also added copper wire to the top to make a hanger.

Here it is hanging on my front door!

White Chandelier Wall Decal

Maddie's Wall Decor!

My daughter LOVES American Girl and a couple of years ago we were able to take her to the American Girl Store in Los Angeles.  The store is decorated in white, hot pink and black.  There is a diamond print pattern on the walls and chandeliers everywhere.  Maddie wanted a special wall decal of a chandelier for her bedroom.  I used Home Decor (love that cartridge!) and cut out the chandelier.  To make is so large, I used my 12x24 mat and then cut it in 2 pieces; the left side and then the right side.  There is a seam down the center of the chandelier, but it's not noticeable.  I then just applied the contact paper to my daughter's wall and it looks great!  Such a simple project to make her room really special!

Boy Scout Emblem for table decorations

This was a quick and easy project!  I used the Home Decor cartridge and picked a Fleur de lis that most closely resembled the Boy Scout crest.  I then used chipboard weight gold glitter paper and cut the shadow.  I cut it at pressure high, speed 3 and blade depth 6.  I then cut it twice for good measure.  They all popped out without an issue.  Then I cut the blue layer out and adhered them together with my ATG gun.  (Love that adhesive!)  Besides getting gold glitter everywhere, this project was quick and easy.  I made 20 of them for the Boy Scout Blue and Gold dinner and they were used as part of the centerpieces.  NOTE:  AFTER CUTTING GLITTER PAPER OR FOAM, REMOVE THE BLADE AND MAKE SURE TO REMOVE ANY CAUGHT GLITTER.  The blade tends to pick up glitter and then not cut well until it is cleaned!
