I created these quick and easy thank you cards using the sheep from Winter Frolic. I cut the layers in white and grey and added a black shadow to one and a grey shadow to the other. (I ended up liking the black shadow better!) I used popdots behind each of the sheep body's and on their heads. It created a great dimension to the card. I then cut "Thank Ewe" out and added it! A quick and easy set of thank you cards!

Hang In There Card
I have a friend of mine at school who is going through a rough time and I kept thinking about making a card for her, but I wanted it to be upbeat and cheery! I picked my daughter up from daycare and she had made the cutest art project by drawing vines and then adding monkeys using her thumbprints and brown ink pad! It was really cute! I decided to use the same idea and create this cute card!
Target had a box of envelopes and postcards in bright cards for $9.99 (I think!) and I needed the envelopes for Austin's invitations. The package was great! Envelopes and postcards in a variety of bright colors, with about 100+ in the box. It was quite the deal!
The background of the card is actually a bright blue postcard from that package. I cut the vine from Create a Critter at about 5 inches. I then cut the monkey (Create a Critter) out of fuzzy brown and cream paper and then cut the shadow in black. I stuck him all together and then added googly eyes and a hand drawn face. Lastly, I cut "hang in there" from Jubilee. The letters were too small to get arranged, so I used the negative image instead and I really like how they turned out!
I added 2 orange brads (1 actually covers a small tear in the green paper! Never would have known, would you???) and then added a chipboard patterned circle to replicate the sun.
Hope you like it!

Spy Party Invitation
April is the busiest month of the year for us! We have three birthdays in the span 6 days! My nephew is April 18, mine is April 20 and my son's is April 23! To add to the chaos, Easter was on the 24th! We also have both sets of parents in town for the big events! None the less, it is now the beginning of April and I am able to blog some of the projects I did for the "big events!"
Austin is all about spies and wanted his kid birthday party to center around his love for mystery and disguise. We decided to do the party at our house, so we started planning. I made these invitations for Austin to hand out.

Using the Cricut, I created the file folder using George and Basic Shapes. I cut it out on cream paper and then inked the edges in brown for an aged look. I wrote "Top Secret" on the file tab. I then used Indie Art and cut the bomb out of red paper and the shadow out of black. I used a watermark pen and added the small red highlight on the left side of the bomb. I then added Diamond glaze to the explosion part of the bomb for some shine and dimension. I had to create the magnifying glass using George again, combining a rounded corner rectangle and two circles! Lastly, I had my son apply his thumb print underneath the magnifying glass for the finishing touch!
Inside, I adhered the note that set the stage for the party inviting all the kids to come be trained as secret service agents. The boys loved the invitations and it really helped the theme come alive!

"Garden"
I am sure you have all done this; purchased a pretty paper that had a HUGE pattern to it and then struggled with a way to use it. Well, I Think this is Debbie Mum paper and I really like it, but the bottom pattern is about 3 inches tall! I always look at this paper and then pass it up because it won't hold all my photos or it just isn't right. Well, I sat down and decided I was going to use it! :) Everything you see on the background paper (along the bottom and the border all the way around) is part of the patterned paper. I matted my photos in a solid dark green to help them stand out from the background.
I'm in a "use it up" phase, so I found this garden title in my stash. It was one of those tear out titles that CK Magazine use to put in their magazines. I can't believe I still had it! I chalked the title and then hand cut it all out. (Pain in the rear, but it looks great!) I simply stuck it to the background paper!
My journaling block was cream paper (to match the background) matted on the same dark green paper. I wrote the journaling out with green Zig marker and then used a package of Jollee's stickers (garden theme) to make a little border across the bottom. I also used two little flowers to give the upper corners an accent! Quick and easy!

April Showers Bring May Flowers Blog Hop Day #1
Day #1
Since we live in Oregon, we have plenty of opportunity to showcase the "showers" portion of this blog hop! Funny thing though, often I don't have pictures because who wants to get their camera wet??? I have to remedy this! For goodness sake, we live in Oregon! On to today's blog hop!
You should have arrived from Melissa's page at http://disneydreamerdesigns.blogspot.com/ not, and you happened to stumble across this blog hop, please go back to the beginning at Kathryn's page please go back to the beginning at Kathryn's page http://wamfamily.blogspot.com/ Ifand enjoy all the great projects. We have a very talented group of ladies!

"Rainboots 'n String Cheese"
This is a layout of some older pictures of my son and my dad. (Austin is almost 10 now!) I wanted to be able to showcase the special relationship that they have, plus all of the funny things that Austin did at this age!
The background is a blue patterned paper from an old paper pack. The matting is done with paper from the same pack, just the reverse coloring (blue background and white pattern). I had several packages of blue and yellow letter stickers, but none of them had enough for the titles, so I mix and matched them. (I think it looks really playful and used up a bunch of old letter stickers!)
The title was all from the same pack of blue letter stickers and then I used a Jollee's umbrella to accent the title. I added a little crystal bling to the top of the umbrella for a little eye candy.
Then I used the rainboots from the same package and made a "matched" set on the bottom edge. I found these raindrop crystals (with popdots attached) at the CK convention in Portland one year. I have no idea who made them, but they really add to the page, don't you think?
I had made this "A" accent at a make and take (at the CK convention too!) and I found the colors worked perfect! It was really easy to make! A die cut yellow oval with a smaller die cut blue patterned paper oval layered over the top. The letter A cut from an alphabet paper and adhered with pop dots. A safety pin at the top gives it a great "tag" feel.
Lastly, and probably the thing that ties this whole page together, the tags! I measured the amount of space that I could write on each tag (don't count the hole spot!) and then I made a text box that size in word. I made one text box per tag and made sure there was lots of space between them. I typed in my journaling and then printed it on regular white paper. I then took blank white tags and used my repositionable adhesive and adhered them OVER the journaling that was on the printer paper. (Now I know where to put the tags and what direction to have them facing!) I then hit print and held my breath! It worked! :) I am so excited! I then took blue chalk and chalked the edges so they stand out a bit.
