This was a quick and easy birthday card for my wonderful sister-in-law! I used a few scraps of paper from "A 29th Street Market." The shabby chic bluish-purple background paper was cut to be 5x4 when folded. I then cut out the cupcake from the Smiley cart. I cut the bottom in another scrap of 29th Street Market paper and the top in white. I inked the edges of everything, the card, cupcake and cupcake topping with Margareta ink. I then used my great Peachy Keen face stamps to add the cute face. I used my finger tip to add little cheeks using the same Margareta ink. I hand wrote the saying "Have your CAKE and eat it too!" I added a small strip of patterned paper (same line) across the top and then tied a matching ribbon scrap around the top.
Inside I mounted another strip of paper on the bottom half of the card (see the fleur de lis??) The great thing about this line of paper is it is all reversible! :) Then I added a solid block to the inside to show the sentiment. I cut the HA-P B-DAY from the Smiley cart and mounted it on a solid paper. I inked all the edges again! In the end, a cute and easy card!
Very pretty card. I am a new follower from the Link Up Party, so glad I found you...your blog is inspirational.
